Aggregates and concrete were sourced locally which again enabled cost savings. The machinery was delivered to site the day prior to work commencing. ‘Dean’ arrived on time daily despite travelling time. Work was carried out to a high standard sometimes beyond 1800hrs to allow stages to be completed. End of day routine always included tidying the site and layout preparation for the next day as well as explanation of work achieved. The estimated time lines were realistic and actually finished ahead of schedule. A full snagging inspection was carried out. "Having received notice of the requirement for a new septic tank and filter bed following a soil survey, we were daunted having to find a builder to do the work. Dean arranged to meet us whilst we were in France, and following this, and with a copy of the survey, we promptly received a quote for the work which was by far the most transparent of the quotes we received. It was also the cheapest, but given the detail in the quote, this reassured me, having also met Dean. Unfortunately we were unable to be in France when the work commenced, but Dean began the work in some of the most atrocious weather, keeping us up to date on progress with photos, and e-mails. The work was finished on time and to a high standard, and was passed by the authorities with no problems and we were the proud owners of a working system. We were even pleasantly surprised that the bill was less than the quote as Dean had made sure some of the contingencies included which were not required were removed from the bill. As mentioned, the weather was very bad during the time the work was done, but once this cleared up, Dean returned to tidy things up, sending more photos to show the end result. When we finally managed to get back to France, we were pleased to see we had a working system, no evidence of all the disruption that was involved in installing the system, and all was in order. In summary, we would have no hesitation in getting Dean back when we have further building work to undertake, as he proved to be reliable, true to his word, honest, and ensured that everything was arranged to get the system installed and signed off all at an excellent price. In addition, we also received a note from our neighbours in France letting us know that everything had been completed and was looking good – praise indeed. We would recommend Dean to anyone looking for a reliable builder."
